Style Presets

Save and reuse custom visual styles from uploads, generations, or Instagram profiles for consistent designs

4 min read Beginner

Style Presets let you save reference images that define a visual aesthetic. When you generate visuals, you can select a preset and AI will match that look — colors, composition, mood, everything.

Think of it as showing AI an example of what you want instead of describing it.

How Style Presets Work

  1. Save a style — Upload reference images, save a generation you love, or import from Instagram
  2. Select it when creating — Choose your preset in the confirmation panel before generating
  3. Get matching results — AI analyzes your reference images and generates visuals that match the aesthetic

The more reference images you provide (up to 5 per preset), the better AI understands the style you're going for.

Creating a Style Preset

Upload Your Own Images

Head to Style Presets and click Upload Style.

  1. Give it a name (e.g., "Warm Editorial", "Neon Dark")
  2. Optionally describe the visual style in words (e.g., "warm earth tones, soft lighting, minimal typography")
  3. Upload 1–5 reference images (PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 10MB each)
  4. Click Upload Style

The description helps AI understand your intent, but it's optional — the images themselves carry most of the style information.

Save from a Generation

Love something AI created? Save it as a style preset right from the canvas. After generating visuals, click the save icon on any output to use it as a future style reference.

Import from Instagram

Want to match an Instagram aesthetic? Click Import from Instagram on the Style Presets page.

  1. Enter a public Instagram profile URL or @username
  2. Wait while we fetch their recent posts (takes about 30–60 seconds)
  3. Browse the image grid and select up to 9 images that represent the style
  4. Click Save Style

This works with any public profile. Private accounts can't be imported.

Using a Style Preset

When generating visuals in Chat Mode:

  • AI may ask about your preferred style during the conversation
  • In the confirmation panel, you'll see a Style option where you can pick from your saved presets
  • The preset's reference images guide AI in matching colors, composition, and overall mood

You can also use presets alongside a brand kit. Your brand defines colors, fonts, and logo — the style preset defines the visual arrangement and aesthetic feel.

Managing Your Presets

Edit a Preset

Click any preset card to open the edit modal. You can:

  • Rename it
  • Update the style description
  • Remove individual reference images (minimum 1 must remain)
  • See usage stats (how many times it's been used, last used date)

Favorite Presets

Star your go-to presets for quick access. Hover over a preset card and click the star icon.

Delete a Preset

Hover over a card and click the trash icon, or open the edit modal and click Delete. This is permanent and can't be undone.

Style presets are available on paid plans:

Tips for Better Results

  • Use consistent reference images — If your 5 images have wildly different styles, AI won't know which to follow. Pick images that share a clear aesthetic.
  • Add a description — Even a few words like "dark moody editorial" helps AI interpret the images correctly.
  • Mix image types — Include different compositions (close-up, wide, text-heavy) to give AI a well-rounded understanding of the style.
  • Start with 2–3 images — You don't need all 5 slots. A few strong references often work better than many weak ones.

Style Presets vs Visual Styles

These are two different things:

  • Visual Styles (Modern, Bold, Elegant, etc.) are Canvora's 8 built-in style options. They're broad categories that anyone can use.
  • Style Presets are your own custom references. They're specific to your aesthetic and saved to your account.

You can use one or the other — or let AI decide. Style presets give you more precise control when you have a specific look in mind.
