Creating Your Brand Kit
Here's the thing about brand consistency: it matters, but it's also tedious. Every time you create a new graphic, you're hunting for that exact shade of blue, making sure you're using the right font, placing your logo in the right spot.
A brand kit solves this. You set it up once, and Canvora applies your brand to every visual automatically. No more color-picking, no more "wait, is this the right logo file?"
Why Bother?
Beyond saving time, there are real reasons to care about this:
Recognition. When all your content looks cohesive, people start recognizing your stuff as they scroll. That's valuable.
Professionalism. Consistent branding just looks more polished. It signals that you've got your act together.
Speed. Once your brand kit is set, you skip the styling decisions entirely. Generate, download, done.
Setting Up Your First Brand Kit
Head to Brands in your dashboard and click Create Brand Kit. Give it a name—could be your company name, a project name, whatever helps you identify it.
Your Colors
This is where you define your palette:
Primary color — Your main brand color. This is the one that shows up on headlines, buttons, important elements. If someone were to describe your brand in one color, this would be it.
Secondary color — A supporting color for accents, highlights, secondary buttons. It should complement your primary without competing with it.
Background colors — You'll want both a light and dark option. Some visuals work better on light backgrounds, others on dark.
Text colors — Again, light and dark variants so your text is always readable regardless of background.
You can enter hex codes directly (like #3B82F6) or use the color picker. If you've got brand guidelines from a designer, just copy the values over.
Your Fonts
Pick two fonts:
Headline font — Something with personality. This is for titles and big statements, so it can be bold, distinctive, attention-grabbing.
Body font — Something readable. This handles the longer text, so clarity matters more than style.
Canvora has a library of professional fonts built in. If you're on a Pro plan, you can upload custom fonts too.
A quick tip on font pairing: contrast works. A bold sans-serif headline with a clean serif body font is a classic combination. Two fonts that are too similar can look like a mistake.
Your Logo
Upload your logo in a few variants:
Primary logo — Your full logo, typically used when there's enough space for it.
Icon or mark — A square version for tighter spaces. If your logo is "Acme Corp" with a star icon, this would just be the star.
Light version — For use on dark backgrounds. Usually white or light-colored.
Dark version — For use on light backgrounds.
PNG files with transparency work best. If you only have one logo file, that's fine—just upload what you have.
Visual Style
Finally, set your overall vibe:
Style preset — Choose from options like Minimal (lots of white space, clean), Bold (high contrast, strong colors), Elegant (sophisticated, refined), or Playful (colorful, fun).
Default logo placement — Where should your logo typically appear? Bottom right is common, but you might prefer bottom left or centered at the top.
Save and You're Done
Click save, and your brand kit is ready to use. Whenever you start a new generation, just select your brand from the dropdown.
Using Multiple Brands
Running an agency? Freelancing for multiple clients? Managing sub-brands?
You can create as many brand kits as you need. Each one is independent, with its own colors, fonts, and logos. Switch between them whenever you're generating for a different brand.
Editing Your Brand Kit
Brands evolve. Maybe you're refreshing your colors, or you've got a new logo.
Just go to Brands, click on the one you want to update, make your changes, and save. Future generations will use the new settings.
Note: existing visuals you've already generated won't change automatically—they'll keep whatever brand settings were active when you created them. You'd need to regenerate if you want them updated.
Some Practical Tips
Start simple. You don't need to fill out every single field. Primary color, one font, and your main logo is enough to get started. You can always add more later.
Test it out. After setting up your brand, generate a few sample visuals. See how everything looks in practice. If something feels off, tweak it.
Keep contrast in mind. Make sure your text colors work against your background colors. If you're using a dark primary color for headlines, they might disappear on a dark background. The style preview helps you catch these issues.
