Create Your First Visual

A hands-on walkthrough of creating your first set of visuals

5 min read Beginner

Alright, let's actually make something. By the end of this guide, you'll have your first batch of professional visuals ready to share. Should take about five minutes.

Getting Started

From your dashboard, click Create to open the generate page. You'll land in AI Chat mode by default—this is the easiest way to get started.

When you open Chat Mode, you'll see a welcome screen with three ways to start:

  • Describe — Just type what you want to create
  • Upload — Drop in a PDF or Word document
  • Paste URL — Share a blog post or webpage link

Below these buttons, you'll see Quick Examples — clickable sample prompts to help you get started. Click any of them to instantly use that prompt.

Starting with a Description

Just describe what you want to create:

"I need an Instagram carousel with 5 tips for better sleep"

The AI will:

  1. Analyze your request
  2. Research your topic if helpful
  3. Suggest the best format for your content
  4. Show you a confirmation panel before generating

What You Can Say

You can be as simple or detailed as you like:

Simple: "Create a LinkedIn post about time management"

Detailed: "I need a carousel for Instagram about morning routines that boost productivity. Include statistics if you can find any. Make it feel modern and clean."

From existing content: "Turn this blog post into social media graphics: paste your text or URL"

The Conversation Flow

After you describe what you want, the AI might ask:

  • What platform you're targeting
  • What style or tone you prefer
  • Whether you want to include specific data or quotes

Just answer naturally—like chatting with a designer. When everything looks good, you'll see a Generate button to create your visuals.

The Confirmation Panel

Before generating, you'll see a confirmation panel where you can customize:

  • Format selection — Confirm or adjust the suggested format(s)
  • Slide count — For carousels, choose 1-10 slides
  • Brand kit — Select your brand or choose "None (AI picks theme)"
  • Embed logo — Toggle whether to include your logo on visuals
  • Visual style — Pick from Modern, Minimal, Bold, Elegant, Playful, Corporate, Creative, Dark, or "Let AI decide"
  • Credit cost — See exactly how many credits this will use

Click Generate when you're ready.

Generation Progress

Creating visuals takes about 30 to 60 seconds. You'll see:

  • A progress bar with percentage complete
  • Live preview as images generate
  • The message "You can navigate away. Your visuals will be saved automatically."

Feel free to continue browsing—your visuals will appear in the chat when ready.

Reviewing What You Got

Once your visuals are ready, they appear both in the chat and on the canvas pane (the right side of your screen). On mobile, you can switch between Chat and Canvas tabs.

Click any image to open it in a larger lightbox view.

Quick Actions

Each generated image has buttons for:

  • Download — Save the individual image
  • Edit — Make changes with natural language

For the whole generation, you'll see:

  • Download All — Get everything as a ZIP file
  • Create More — Generate additional variations
  • Try Other Formats — Regenerate with different formats

Making Changes

Love it? Click download and you're done. You'll get a high-resolution image ready to post anywhere.

Want some changes? Here's where Canvora shines. Just describe what you want changed:

  • "Make the headline bigger"
  • "Change the background to dark blue"
  • "Add more white space around the edges"
  • "Make it feel more energetic"

Canvora will update the visual with your feedback. Keep iterating until you're happy. Each edit costs 1 credit.

Downloading Your Visuals

You can download individual images by clicking on each one, or grab everything at once with the Download All button.

Every image comes out at high resolution, ready to upload wherever you need it. You can download in PNG, JPG, or WebP formats. Paid plans get 4K resolution output.
