Create Your First Visual
A hands-on walkthrough of creating your first set of visuals

Create Your First Visual
Alright, let's actually make something. By the end of this guide, you'll have your first batch of professional visuals ready to share. Should take about five minutes.
Starting Fresh
From your dashboard, click the big Create Visual button. Can't miss it—it's the purple one. This opens up the creation studio where you'll set everything up.
Adding Your Content
You've got three ways to get your content into Canvora. Pick whichever fits your situation.
Option 1: Just Paste Some Text
This is the most straightforward approach. Copy whatever content you want to turn into visuals—could be a blog excerpt, some bullet points, a product description, whatever—and paste it right in.
A quick tip: the more context you give, the better your results will be. Instead of just "productivity tips," try something like "5 productivity tips that helped me save 10 hours a week: 1. Time-blocking my deep work sessions, 2. Using the two-minute rule for small tasks..." You get the idea.
Option 2: Drop in a URL
Already have something published? Perfect. Just paste the URL and Canvora will pull in the content automatically. It's smart enough to grab the main article text and ignore all the navigation menus and sidebars.
This works great for blog posts, articles, landing pages—pretty much any public webpage. Just make sure the page doesn't require a login to view.
Option 3: Upload a Document
Got a PDF, Word doc, or PowerPoint? Upload it directly. Canvora will extract the text and work with that. This is handy when you're working on something that isn't published yet, or when you want to turn a presentation into social content.
Choosing Your Platforms
Now pick where these visuals are going to live. You'll see a grid of platform options, and you can select as many as you want.
Here are the main ones and what they're best for:
Instagram Post (1:1) — The classic square format. Great for feed posts, quote cards, and carousel slides.
Instagram Story (9:16) — Tall vertical format for stories. Also works for Reels covers.
LinkedIn (16:9) — Professional-looking format that displays well in the LinkedIn feed.
Twitter/X (16:9) — Optimized for how Twitter crops images in the timeline.
YouTube Thumbnail (16:9) — The standard thumbnail size. These are designed to grab attention.
Pinterest (2:3) — Tall pins that perform well in the Pinterest feed.
Don't overthink this part. You can always create more for different platforms later.
Applying Your Brand (Optional)
If you've already set up a brand kit (your colors, fonts, logo), you can select it here. Every visual will automatically use your brand styling.
Don't have a brand kit yet? No worries—Canvora uses clean, professional default styles. You can always recreate them later once you've set up your brand.
Hit Create
Click the button and give it about 30 to 60 seconds. You'll see a progress indicator, and then your visuals will appear.
Reviewing What You Got
Once your visuals are ready, you'll see them all laid out. Take a look through them.
Love it? Click download and you're done. You'll get a high-resolution PNG ready to post anywhere.
Want some changes? This is where it gets fun. There's a chat interface where you can just... talk to Canvora. Type something like:
- "Make the headline bigger"
- "Change the background to dark blue"
- "Add more white space around the edges"
- "Make it feel more energetic"
Canvora will update the visual with your feedback. Keep iterating until you're happy.
Downloading Your Visuals
You can download individual images by clicking on each one, or grab everything at once with the Download All button.
Every image comes out at high resolution, PNG format, ready to upload wherever you need it. Paid plans get 4K resolution output.
