Import from Instagram

Match any Instagram aesthetic by importing a profile's visual style as a reusable preset

3 min read Beginner

See an Instagram profile with a visual style you love? Import it. Canvora analyzes the images you select and creates a reusable Style Preset that captures the aesthetic — colors, composition, mood, everything. Then use it on your own visuals.

What It Does

When you import from Instagram, you're not copying anyone's images. You're extracting the visual patterns — the color palette, the composition style, the overall mood — and saving them as a reference for AI to match when generating your visuals.

The result is a Style Preset that you can apply to any future generation.

How to Import

  1. Go to Style Presets and click Import from Instagram
  2. Enter one of the following:
    • A profile URL or @username — fetches their recent posts so you can browse and pick
    • A post URL — imports images from a specific post
    • A carousel URL — imports all slides from a carousel post
  3. Wait 30–60 seconds while Canvora fetches the images
  4. Browse the image grid and select up to 9 images that represent the style you want
  5. Click Save Style

That's it. Your new style preset is ready to use.

Importing from a specific post or carousel is great when you've spotted the exact aesthetic you want — no need to scroll through an entire profile.

Choosing the Right Images

The images you select determine how well the preset captures the style. A few tips:

Pick images that share a consistent look. If the profile mixes selfies, product shots, and memes, focus on the ones that have the aesthetic you're after — not all of them.

Avoid text-heavy images. Graphics with lots of text don't give AI much visual style information. Prefer images with strong colors, composition, and mood.

5–9 images is the sweet spot. You need at least a few for AI to identify patterns, but you don't need to max out the selection.

Focus on the feel, not the content. You're importing the visual style, not the subject matter. A food photographer's warm, moody lighting works just as well for a consulting firm's visuals.

Using Your Imported Style

Once saved, use your Instagram-imported preset like any other Style Preset:

  1. Start creating visuals in Chat Mode
  2. In the confirmation panel, look for the Style option
  3. Select your imported preset
  4. Generate — AI matches the color palette, composition, and mood from your reference images

Your imported style works alongside brand kits. Think of it this way:

  • Brand kit = Your specific colors, fonts, and logo
  • Style preset = The visual arrangement, mood, and aesthetic

Things to Know

  • Public profiles only — Private Instagram accounts can't be imported
  • Images are saved to your account — The images you select are stored as part of your style preset so AI can reference them during generation. They're private to your account and never shared or redistributed
  • Available on paid plans — Same limits as Style Presets (Starter: 1 preset, Pro: 5 presets, Business: unlimited)
  • Updates aren't automatic — If the profile changes their style, you'd need to import again to capture the new look
